Does the state have a Voluntary Intradistrict Open Enrollment program? Not addressed.
Does the state have a Mandatory Intradistrict Open Enrollment program? NO
Does the state have a Voluntary Interdistrict Open Enrollment program? YES
Does the state have a Mandatory Interdistrict Open Enrollment program? YES
Student may apply to contiguous district if residence district dissolved or reorganized or one of the following met: 1) student victim of documented violence, 2) school declared unsafe by superintendent, or 3) school received needs improvement rating for 6 years.
Does the state provide districts “Opt Out” provisions for open enrollment programs? YES
Space available.
Does the state set priorities for districts to follow when accepting students for open enrollment? Not addressed.
Who is responsible for student transportation? Sending district to reimburse receiving district for transport (not from transportation fund) when transfer based on interdistrict mandatory transfer criteria. Otherwise transport may be paid but not required.
Do desegregation provisions impact open enrollment programs? Not addressed.
