Overview: All but eight states have published state-specific teacher shortage data within the past five years. 

Additional Information: Teacher shortage data can be useful in identifying where and why shortages exist within a state. 

This collection does not include the “shortage area listing” reports provided by states annually to the U.S. Department of Education. The collection also does not include attrition or retention data that are reported for educator preparation programs and/or accountability purposes.
